One way to successfully train a dog that is known for aggression is through early socialization meaning exposing it to as many things as possible

Another way to successfully train a dog is through reinforcement either positive or negative.

* Using reinforcement whether positive or negative have proven to have an influence on behavior.

*Positive reinforcement is very effective in many ways and is a lot more effective when teaching a dog cause it gives the dog a reason to learn.

*Negative reinforcement teaches the dog that the dogs previous actions are not wanted in the owners home,

 The power of positive dog training is a book about how you could you positive tools to train a dog which is more effective.

On the humane society there is an article called Dogs: Positive reinforcement and it has a ton of information to further support my answer.

Dog training is is successful through many methods but some are more effective than others.

1. What I plan on doing for my independent component is training a dog from a dog training book and keep record of it in my log.

2. To meet the expectations I will only count the hours I am outside training the dog to make sure I am putting in full effort to it.

d) What I completed was 30 hours of training a dog through socialization and positive reinforcement and repetition.

Interpretive 

 The significance of the project is to do what my senior topic is about and that is dog training so basically that is what I did I trained a dog for weeks while learning from a dog trainer. So I had to teach it to sit when told, to be able to tolerate people. I also had to house train the dog as well as teach it to tolerate cats and relatives.

Applied 

The way that this independent component has helped me understand the topic of dog training is I actually got 30 hours of experience training a dog which is the best way in understanding how to train a dog. Some specific examples are bringing a dog to a dog park so that can socialize and not view everyone as an enemy. Another example would be exercising the dog so that it burns of energy so that when it is at home it isn't biting and destroying things around the house.
