During the month of may every senior had deadlines dealing with senior presentation stuff. The first deadline all of the seniors had to deal with was I search paper. I was able to complete that project with ease during may just because we were working on the project with Mrs Ortega for the past few weeks in English Class. So that is was the first deadline the seniors had to deal with and if you kept up with all of the assignments in that class it you were fine.
Our second deadline was coming up with activities for our final presentations and that was extremely easy to come up with. The reason being was because I was able to look at other students activities and make mine better. The assignment was to present to the class and have the students recommend things to make your presentation better.
The final major task that the seniors had to complete was senior project presentations where we had to complete an hour presentation on our senior topic. We had to add the activity in the presentation and make sure it works with the information you were giving during senior presentation.
After the presentation was done I was able to wrap up the year over all with just the junior interview to finish which should be very easy.

Title: Blog 23: Senior Project Reflectio
(1) Positive Statement
What are you most proud of in your block presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
The thing that I am most proud of during my presentation was of how I set the presentation up. I was able to present my information and tie it in with my activity and have answer my EQ through the activity itself.
(2) Questions to Consider
a. What assessment would you give yourself on your block presentation (self-assessment)?
AE P AP CR NC
P/AE
b. What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project (self-assessment)?
AE P AP CR NC
AP
(3) What worked for you in your senior project?
The thing that I think worked for me over the course of senior project was I had a dog to test on and see my training methods unfold over the course of the year. The audience really liked that I had actual proof of a dog that is being trained.
(4) (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your senior project if you could go back in time?
I think the only complaints about my presentation that people had was me being monotone and not enthusiastic because it was hard to follow sometimes. So what I would do if I was given the opportunity is be more enthusiastic during the presentation.
(5) Finding Value
How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors? Be specific and use examples.
I think learning dog training is a skill that all pet owners should know just because of how important it is to own a pet. The way it will help me with my future endeavors is it teaches me to deal with how personalities are formed.

LIA Response to blog:

· Log of specific hours with a total and a description of your duties updated on the right hand side of your blog
· Contact Name and Mentorship Place
Interpretive
The most important thing I learned during my mentorship was to train a pitbull puppy all the way til it is grown. The reason why I think that this is important is because my senior topic is "How can a dog trainer successfully train a dog that is known for aggression?" and everything I learned during my mentroship worked towards answering it.
Applied
How has what you’ve done helped you to answer your EQ?
My essential question is "How can a dog trainer successfully train a dog that is known for aggression?" and like I stated earlier the stuff I learned during mentorship all worked towards my essential question. I did stuff that answered the EQ like Early Socialization and Reinforcement.
*Please do not turn in your mentorship hours to the office. After we collect the total list from all seniors, we will turn in one piece of paper with all hours for everybody. It is counted as 50 hours of the 200 you need in order to graduate from I-Poly. The 10 hours in the summer have already been added to your community service total.
Grading Criteria (May 13th)
- 50 hours completed (50 from the academic year)
- LIA response (submitted to your blog)

Exit Interview
Content:
(1) What is your essential question, and what are your answers? What is your best answer and why?
How can a dog trainer successfully train a dog that is known for aggression?
(2) What process did you take to arrive at this answer?
The process I took to finding these answers were I had learned all of these through experience rather than research. For example I used my independent component time to test out training methods which eventually became my answer to my essential question.
(3) What problems did you face? How did you resolve them?
-The problems that I came across over the course of my senior project were It was very difficult to find a topic I wanted to do for the rest of the Year.
-The way I resolved this was all based on timing I was stuck with a pitiful puppy right when school started and ended up choosing this topic.
-My second problem was finding different types of people to interview and work with.
-What I did to solve this was I asked my mentor for different types people I could go to so I ended up going to places like training programs.
(4) What are the two most significant sources you used to answer your essential question and why?
One of my significant sources was obviously my mentor just because they literally guided my through my senior project as well as helping me finding my answers to my essential question.
My second source that I found very successful was I found the research I got during research check to be very helpful because I was exposed to multiple ideas from multiple dog trainers. I thought this was good because I was able form my ideas after reading everyone.

Over the month of April I was going through a bit of a family crisis but luckily I was able to complete some of my stuff that is due for senior project. I was able to complete my independent component which led me to finding a third answer to my essential question. The source I used was " Dog training Expertise: Basic Manners for the Family Dog,
Another thing I was able to complete was my mentor ship hours which leaves me with all the tasks that are happening in may like I-Search, Exit Interview. and Senior Presentations,

LITERAL
(a)I, student Janus Navarro, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents _30__ hours of work.
(b) Cite your source regarding who or what article or book helped you complete the independent component.
"Pet Expertise Dog Training Guide: Basic Manners for the family"
(c) Update your Independent Component 2 Log (which should be under your Senior Project Hours link)
(d) Explain what you completed.
I used these 30 hours as a way to get more information. I experimented with all of my essential question answers to see which answer is the most useful. The reason why I made this my independent component is because I need a final answer and I used the time as a way to get an answer I wanted.
INTERPRETIVE
The evidence is above and are some of the stuff I recorded over the course of my independent component and the books are the books that I was recommended to use during my independent component
APPLIED
How did the component help you answer your EQ? Please include specific examples to illustrate how it helped.
The whole purpose of this independent component was to get a best answer to my essential question. My answers were types of training methods so I experimented with using them with my dog. For example house breaking and nipping I learned about it and tried using my training methods to see which answers is more useful for other things.

March Additional Blog
March Blog
For the month of march I mainly worked on forming answers for my senior topic as well as trying to finish my independent component 2. I think that this month was kind of tedious when it came to senior project because of preparing for interview 4 and trying to find questions I could ask my mentor because I am kind of started losing ideas about questions regarding my senior topic.
When It came to finding answers to my senior topic It was extremely easy getting answers it was just a matter of going back to old sources and previous interviews. I guess a major struggle I got when getting my answers was choosing my answers because my first answer all my answers could be an answer to my EQ.

Blog 14 Independent Component
Independent Component 1
a) I JJ Navarro affirm that I completed independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
b) The source I used was "Dog training for dummies" to help guide me through the independent component.
c) Updated Hours
d) What I completed was 30 hours of training a dog through socialization and positive reinforcement and repetition.
Interpretive
The significance of the project is to do what my senior topic is about and that is dog training so basically that is what I did I trained a dog for weeks while learning from a dog trainer. So I had to teach it to sit when told, to be able to tolerate people. I also had to house train the dog as well as teach it to tolerate cats and relatives.
Applied
The way that this independent component has helped me understand the topic of dog training is I actually got 30 hours of experience training a dog which is the best way in understanding how to train a dog. Some specific examples are bringing a dog to a dog park so that can socialize and not view everyone as an enemy. Another example would be exercising the dog so that it burns of energy so that when it is at home it isn't biting and destroying things around the house.
